3.6K call center agents needed in PH
Call center agents remain to be the most in-demand workers in the Philippines, according to the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).
In new data released by the DOLE-Bureau of Local Employment (BLE), 3,672 positions remain vacant in the country’s call center sector. This is closely followed by street sweepers at 3,556 slots.
DOLE also recorded over a hundred vacancies for production workers, customer service assistants, staff nurses, and technical support staff.
The labor department added that the employment situation in the country is set to improve due to the upcoming holiday season and the elections.
Aside from the elections and holidays, DOLE Assistant Secretary Dominique Tutay said, the new COVID-19 alert system could also help boost employment and enable the country’s economy to recover.
Unlike the previous quarantine restrictions, Tutay said the new alert system only affects smaller areas like a barangay, thus, more establishments get to operate and provide employment.
At the same time, Senate Committee on Labor and Employment Chairman Joel Villanueva is urging DOLE to create “stable and sustainable employment” to help the economy recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.
