31 Guyanese children finished with ICT training
A total of 31 students, between 12 to 17 years old, have finished their Information Communication Technology (ICT) training in Georgetown, Guyana. This ICT training is part of the “leaving no child behind” initiative created by the Office of the Prime Minister.
This program seeks to educate young children in basic ICT programs used across the country. It is currently administered by the Industry and Innovation Unit.
While addressing the graduating batch, Minister of Public Service Sonia Parag told the students to use the “very interest they’ve shown in the training program” to prioritize other aspects of their academic studies.
Parag also encouraged the graduates to become ambassadors and represent their community with the knowledge that they have gained through the program.
Meanwhile, the Director of Industry and Innovation Unit Shahrukh Hussain urged the students to continue participating in the training programs of the government, particularly in ICT as it is expected to play an important role in the country’s future.
