40% of Cebu BPO workers want to resign — survey
CEBU, PHILIPPINES — The Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) industry in Cebu still suffers from high turnover rates as about 40% of its workforce plans to leave their jobs soon.
According to a recent survey by employment center Mynimo, employees’ reasons for leaving their jobs include being underpaid, lack of company benefits, feeling undervalued, limited growth opportunities, and a lack of work-life balance.
These issues could decrease employee morale, motivation, and productivity, ultimately leading to resignations.
Mynimo CEO Wesley Chiongbian added that most BPO employees are returning to their previous professions now that other industries have regained stability.
The report emphasized that companies must make drastic changes to address their employees’ concerns or risk losing more of their top talent to competitors, ultimately hurting their competitiveness and profitability.
