76.8% of Indian companies let employees choose their work models
More than three-quarters (76.8%) of companies in India are looking to allow employees an option to choose their preferred work model.
According to a report by staffing firm TeamLease, this decision is relevant to the real estate spaces that companies were able to maintain or acquire over the last two years.
About 36.6% of survey respondents claimed they had office space on lease pre-pandemic but moved to co-working spaces afterward.
Meanwhile, 36.9% said that they had office space on lease pre-pandemic but moved to fully remote work settings without an operational office.
The report stated that while 21.4% of organizations didn’t see any change in their workspace status quo, 5.1% said they intend to stay a virtual-only organization for the foreseeable future.
TeamLease VP and business head for the retail, e-commerce, logistics, and transportation vertical Ajoy Thomas said, “As the economy is slowly opening up and organizations are looking to welcome their employees back, they want to foolproof their workspaces and environment to accommodate the employee preferences in a way that also aligns with business sustainability and growth.”
“Both can be balanced in the best way possible by redefining what productivity looks like, how it’s measured, and how employees are being engaged and retained in the long term,” Thomas added.
