81% of employers do not have a compensation plan for remote workers – Payscale
As remote working continues among office workers, 81% of employers said that they do not have a compensation strategy in place for their work-from-home employees, according to research conducted by software company Payscale.
Data from the report shows that in industries such as technology and marketing, expectations for remote work options have increased to over 70%. However, only 50% of companies are ready for a flexible work model post-pandemic, and only 47% have surveyed their employees.
Payscale CEO Scott Torrey said that “forcing employees back to the office full time will no doubt result in turnover, yet many organizations don’t seem to be prepared for that reality.”
Torrey added that organizations who are listening and accommodating the suggestions of their workforce “are most likely to come out on top.”
PayScale’s latest remote work report analyzed over 530,000 online salary profiles from July 2019 to July 2021 and interviewed a total of 682 employers.
