AI to reduce training time for new tech hires — analyst
MUMBAI, INDIA — Generative AI could help the training time of new recruits in India’s IT industry, said Gaurav Vasu, founder of intelligence platform UnearthInsight.
According to Vasu, having AI access in the onboarding process could cut the training period for new hires from six to eight weeks to around three-four weeks.
Vasu also believes that fresh graduates will start getting trained for prompt engineer roles to take advantage of the vast database and front-end generative AI tools in the tech industry.
“This will help [the] Indian IT industry operate efficiently,” he added.
Meanwhile, other industry experts believe that the rise of generative AI could unlock new revenue streams for Indian IT firms.
Ganapathy Subramaniam, COO of tech outsourcing giant Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), said they have started integrating generative Ai into their offerings.
At the same time, Infosys CEO Salil Parekh said they now have active programs and projects with clients, working with generative AI platforms to address specific areas, processes, and libraries within their business.
