Bangladesh eyeing 3M jobs, $5Bn exports in ICT by 2025
Bangladesh is looking to expand its ICT industry by opening about three million job opportunities and earning five billion dollars in exports by 2025.
According to State Minister for the ICT Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak, the government wants to open a new climate for attracting foreign investment as an exporter of ICT products made in the country.
This statement comes as the country celebrates one of the most significant events of Bangladesh’s ICT sector, Digital World 2022. Palak said that this event would be a unique opportunity to showcase the capabilities of Bangladesh in the technology sector to the world.
This year’s Digital World 2022 will feature startup summits, ministerial conferences, BPO summits, e-governance expos, digital devices and innovation expos, mobile and innovation expos, software showcases, e-commerce expos, and concerts.
“We hope this event will give us an idea of our capabilities and future opportunities in the technology sector,” the minister added.
So far, Bangladesh has created more than two million job opportunities and made about 1.5 billion dollars in the ICT sector’s export earnings.
