Croatia, PH renew bilateral partnership
MANILA, PHILIPPINES — The Philippines and Croatia agreed to boost their existing long-standing partnership by developing new areas of cooperation.
During the meeting, the Philippines advocated for further cooperation in labor, science, technology and innovation, education, tourism, information and communications technology, and the defense and maritime sectors.
A memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will also be signed between Croatia’s University of Zagreb and the Philippines’ Far Eastern University (FEU) to mark the 30th anniversary of bilateral relations between the two countries.
A discussion about ASEAN-EU and PH-EU relations, developments in the West Philippine Sea, human rights, and respect for the rule of law also occurred.
Moreover, a frank exchange of views regarding regional security concerns and perspectives on the situation in Ukraine and its implications in Europe and Asia also occurred.
At the end of the consultations, the Philippines and Croatia delegations hoped that future meetings would follow to serve as a communication platform between the two nations.
