Digital skills upgrade needed regardless of profession — Jobstreet PH
Filipino workers should work on upgrading their digital skills regardless of their chosen careers to remain competitive in the job market, said recruitment portal Jobstreet Philippines.
According to Jobstreet’s Decoding Global Talent report, digital roles are the top target for 77% of Filipinos who are willing to retrain for new jobs.
The recruitment portal added that candidates with digital skills have an advantage as employers shift to a hybrid work setup.
To help in the upskilling of applicants, Jobstreet PH Country Manager Philip Gioca advised that workers must look into skillsets that are in demand in a hybrid setup — such as communications, teamwork, problem-solving and critical thinking.
He noted that there are a lot of free resources online that Filipinos “can leverage for [their] advantage.”
Jobstreet recommends digital education platforms such as FutureLearn, Luna Academy, Udemy as well as Coursera.
Aside from upskilling, applicants should also learn how to use Google Workspace, Calendly, Trello, and Basecamp, among others, as “more and more employers will start adopting digital ways of working…”
Gioca added that flexibility and resiliency will also be a key advantage in this digital age as more jobs rely on innovation or technology.
