Flexibility, technology, upskilling are key drivers in the future of work – Infosys

BENGALURU, INDIA — Flexibility, the continued use of advanced technology, and providing upskilling opportunities are the key revenue drivers in the future of work. 

According to a report by IT firm Infosys, increased employee retention over the past three years could result in stronger revenue growth for most companies.

Flexibility would also be crucial in how organizations operate, as 35% of executives are expected to not have a permanent office desk in the next few years. Meanwhile, 41% of companies said they would increase remote hires in the coming years.

With the continuation of hybrid and remote work, Infosys said that 30% of companies are looking to focus on digital workplace automation investments.

With this renewed focus, the firm forecasted that digital automation tools could drive US$808 billion in revenue gains in the following years.

Commenting on the report, Infosys EVP and Head of Digital Experience & Microsoft Business Rajesh Varrier said, “Organizations have realized that remote work is here to stay and that there is a pressing need to diversify and upskill their employees to boost business growth.” 

“The findings from the Future of Work 2023 report also showcase how businesses can drive growth, productivity, and profitability through the automation of digital tools and create more inclusive workplaces,” Varrier added.
