MAKATI, PHILIPPINES — The IT and Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP) and the Philippine Board of Investments (BOI) recently held an IT-BPM Talent Summit at the Makati Diamond Residences.

According to IBPAP, the event convenes and mobilizes stakeholders in the sector, the government, and the academe to help the Philippine IT-BPM industry leap ahead on its agenda on national upskilling, educational reforms, and career advocacy.

In his message of support, Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Alfredo Pascual applauds the IT-BPM sector’s adaptability and role in putting the Philippines on the global map.

Meanwhile, Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Secretary Ivan John Uy expressed his confidence in what a strong public and private sector collaboration could achieve for the Philippines.

In his message of thanks, IBPAP President and CEO Jack Madrid highlighted the importance of a multi-stakeholder coalition across the next six years to create 1.1 million jobs in the outsourcing sector.

A “Five-Year National Development Program” was also showcased during the event, outlining specific activities to spur the local IT-BPM industry.

The summit was celebrated in line with the Philippine IT-BPM Industry Roadmap 2028, which aims to make the country the “world’s number one experience hub for digitally-enabled and customer-centric services.”

Under the roadmap, outsourcing stakeholders are looking to create a US$59 billion sector with 2.5 million full-time employees and an 8.9% contribution to the Philippines’ gross domestic product by 2028.
