Webhelp launches in Egypt
The Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat highlights the significance of the country’s ICT sector in attracting foreign investors.
Speaking at the launch of Paris-based multinational business process outsourcing and consultancy company Webhelp, Talaat highlighted Egypt’s role as a leading destination in providing global outsourcing services.
Webhelp International’s Egypt office is about 20,000 square meters and employs about 1,100 workers. The company plans to reach 1,600 employees by the end of this year and 3,600 employees by 2024.
Webhelp International Oliver Duha said Egypt is “one of the most attractive markets in the field of outsourcing services.”
He added that his company is sure of its decision to invest in the Egyptian market and has many plans for business development in Cairo.
At the same time, the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Webhelp International to enhance cooperation in exporting outsourcing and cross-border services.
Under the MoU, Webhelp is committing to expanding its operations in Egypt and creating job opportunities directed toward the activities of exporting services to its customers in the Middle East, North Africa, Europe, and the US.
