Iloilo City overtakes Cebu, Clark in office space sales
Iloilo City attracted the highest number of BPO locators this year despite the pandemic, overtaking Cebu City for the first time. Real estate services company Leechiu Property Consultants (LPC) CEO David Leechi said this is due to Mayor Jerry Treñas’ leadership and preparedness as the city dealt with COVID-19.
“In focus: Iloilo is the largest recipient of office demand outside Manila. It transacted 50,000 square meters of office space, overtaking Cebu and Clark, Pampanga for the first time… With 144,000 square meters total current supply, vacancy stands at 10 per cent,” LPC cited.
Earlier, the city welcomed the entry of technology company Asurion set to open at the Megaworld Iloilo Business Park in January 2021, bringing in 1,200 jobs.
