India seeks stronger business ties in Ilocos Norte
LAOAG CITY, PHILIPPINES — Officials from the India Business Forum (IBF) Association Philippines recently visited the province of Ilocos Norte to establish partnerships with the local government and private sector.
According to IBF President Dileep Tiwari, Indian companies look forward to expanding operations in the “northern gateway of Luzon.”
Tiwari added that the support shown by Ilocos Norte Governor Matthew Joseph Manotoc could help the government’s plan to boost manufacturing, generate employment and bring cutting-edge technology to the Philippines.
In an earlier Zoom press conference, Ambassador of India to the Philippines Shambu Kumaran said India and the Philippines have shown “great business dynamism,” especially during the pandemic.
“The growth potential of both countries has begun to manifest strongly again,” Kumaran stated.
The ambassador added that business partnerships between the two countries could bring training or professional courses for Filipinos across various local governments.
The IBF represents various sectors such as pharmaceutical and healthcare, textile, automobile, Information Technology (IT), Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), renewable energy, engineering, accounting, travel and tourism, agriculture, manufacturing, creative industry, and education technology.
