Indian tech sector expects 1.38 lakh hirings in 2020-2021
The IT industry is expected to add over 1.38 lakh (equivalent to 138,000) new hirings in the fiscal year 2020-2021, according to the National Association of Software and Service Companies (NASSCOM) CEO Survey 2021.
The survey results stated that the country’s IT sector projects an increase of almost 2.3% in the 2021 fiscal year which would result in an almost US$194 billion revenue in the industry.
Additionally, 97% of tech CEOs predicted a “significantly better global economic growth” this year and 95% are expecting a higher hiring rate than 2020.
NASSCOM chairman UB Pravin Rao said in a statement, “Even today, everyone is working from home. But what we have managed to showcase to clients is that though our workforce [is] working from home, we have not compromised on security and rather maintained all the parameters. That has given them confidence that work from anywhere can be worked out.”
