IT-BPM roadmap gauges 2.5Mn full-time employees by 2028
The Information Technology and Business Process Management (IT-BPM) is poised to generate an estimated additional 1.1 million jobs accumulating to 2.5 million full-time employees by 2028.
The IT and Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP) estimates that the annual revenue of the said industry will hit $59 billion in six years.
The estimated growth would reach 8.5 per cent with 54 per cent of which will be BPO employment coming from the countryside.
“We do want to make sure that whether it is client customer experience, user experience, and superior employee experience… anything to do with experience people will think the Philippines first,” IBPAP chairman Benedict Hernandez said, during the virtual opening day of the 14th International Innovation Summit (IIS).
Moreover, the industry has the potential to nearly double in size as its annual revenue is likely to reach $59 billion in 2028, reflecting a compound annual growth rate of 10.4 percent.
