Jamaica’s BPO sector moves to diversify its services
Jamaica is planning to advance and diversify its services in the Business Process Outsourcing industry.
Global Services Association of Jamaica (GSAJ) President Gloria Henry said that they are looking into exploring Knowledge Process Outsourcing (KPO) and Information Technology Outsourcing (ITO) in the country.
The GSAJ head stated that opportunities in these segments are largely untapped in Jamaica, despite the high demand in the global market.
Henry also cited a recent study conducted by the World Bank which indicates that the BPO and agriculture industries can be the main drivers of economic growth in the Caribbean nation.
GSAJ noted that opportunities for diversification in the industry will be explored at the upcoming Outsource2Jamaica (O2J) held on May 17.
The forum is an event attended by global experts, technocrats, local entrepreneurs, government officials and leaders, buyers, and service providers in the BPO from the Caribbean and other countries.
