MarinHealth to outsource RCM services to Optum
California-based healthcare system MarinHealth will work with healthcare provider Optimum to provide supply chain and Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) services.
In a press release, both organizations said that “MarinHealth and Optum are committed to ensuring a smooth transition and exceptional experience for patients, employees, and providers.”
As per the agreement, certain MarinHealth employees performing these in-house functions will be absorbed by Optum.
This collaboration will streamline billing, patient registration, health plan services, coding, and modernize patient accounts. Additionally, the goal of the deal is to increase operational efficiency and streamline nonadministrative processes.
MarinHealth CEO and Managing Director David Klein said that the “new relationship allows our doctors and nurses to focus on what they do best, which is take care of patients, while Optum helps us to support some of our operational and administrative functions.”
