Mimecast to offer cybersecurity support in PH
US-based cybersecurity resiliency company Mimecast will be offering its services in the Philippines and the rest of Southeast Asia (SEA) through its newly opened Singapore facility.
The SEA region is a focused strategic growth market with organizations going through a rapid digital transformation for the past two years. Due to this, Mimecast said that cybercrime is becoming the topmost concern for governments and businesses.
In the Philippines, the Department of Information and Communications and Technology (DICT) acknowledged the danger of cyberattacks in the country especially since it is still in the “infancy stage” in terms of awareness, communication, skills and expertise.
Mimecast SEA Regional Vice-President Stanley Hsu stated that they are “strongly positioned to support regional efforts to strengthen the defenses of organizations, build resilience, and create a safe digital environment to succeed.”
The cybersecurity firm plans to “build a channel partner ecosystem through regional distribution” in SEA to cope with the current online security demand.
Mimecast’s services could significantly help the Philippines since according to a 2021 report by Google, Temasek, and Bain & Co, the country is the “fastest-growing internet economy in Southeast Asia, fueled in the pandemic by e-commerce and food delivery services.”
