NCR to stay in Alert Level 1 until end of April
The National Capital region (NCR) will remain under Alert Level 1— which is the government’s least restrictive lert level — until April 30, according to an announcement made by the Malacañang Palace.
Acting presidential spokesman Martin Andanar said that this decision was made by the government’s pandemic policy-making body the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF).
This news comes after the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) confirmed that Metro Manila’s 16 cities and one municipality are lockdown-free for the first time since March 2020.
The provinces of Abra, Apayao, Baguio City, Mountain Province, Kalinga, Dagupan City and 57 other areas across the country are also placed under Alert Level 1 until the end of the month.
Alert Level 1 allows all establishments and activities to operate at full on-site capacity, with face-to-face classes subject to the approval of the Office of the President.
Meanwhile, the Department of Health (DOH) reported that the daily count of COVID-19 infections had hit a “plateau” in the country. with new cases reaching only 200-plus for four straight days.
