PH’s new e-travel system hassles arriving travelers
The Philippine’s new e-travel system, which is implemented to provide a seamless and hassle-free system for travelers arriving in the country, seems to have made arrivals more complicated.
According to a report from the BusinessMirror, passengers arriving at the Manila International Airport are “dealing with unfriendly e-travel website and confusing queues.”
It is also reported that the e-forms prove to be very difficult to fill out through mobile phones. Passengers also have to input their vaccination details manually and have to queue up twice for QR scanning and Immigration.
The Bureau of Immigration (BI) said that the issues are all part of “birth pains.”
On December 5, the Philippine government implemented the removal of One Health Pass and transitioned to the e-arrival card, supposedly a fully integrated arrival and departure system that includes all relevant government agencies.
