Some BPO firms would rather lose tax perks than remove WFH – ACW
At least four to six business process outsourcing (BPO) companies in the Philippines are willing to forego their tax incentives so that they could continue their employees’ remote work arrangement.
According to Alliance of Call Center Workers (ACW) co-convenor Lara Melencio, these companies would rather choose to lose their icentives than “force their workers to return to office.
Melencio added that the salaries and benefits are still expected to remain the same even though employers would lose their fiscal incentives from the government.
Meanwhile, in a recent poll done within the group, ACW co-convenore Emman David disclosed that 156 members said that they will resign if WFH is removed from their companies, 117 are still undecided, and only 37 said that they will stay with their current employers.
ACW is a labor group for call center employees that was built during the pandemic. It current has about 1,400 member workers from different BPO firms in the Philippines.
