US tech job postings saw 15% growth
Unique, active tech job postings in the US for computer-related roles grew by 15% to 1.2 million from March to September 6, according to an analysis by the National Foundation for American Policy (NFAP).
Vacancy postings in computer occupations were led by software developers, quality assurance analysts, and testers with over 435,000 followed by network and computer system administrators with over 112,000 positions.
Meanwhile, hiring activity for computer systems analysts was reported to reach more than 110,000 posts, while information security analysts have over 76,000 vacancies and over 47,000 electrical engineers are being recruited in the country.
The organization said that this figure shows that H-1B visa workers, or foreigners who work in specialty occupations, are not taking jobs from US employees.
NFAP executive director Stuart Anderson stated that “companies have an ongoing need for more highly skilled professionals” but the lack of talent available “slows growth in the US economy” and encourages businesses to hire foreigners for the position.
