Wipro Q1 revenue up 17.9% y-o-y
IT services giant Wipro reported a revenue increase of 17.9% year-on-year in its first fiscal quarter ending June 30.
Wipro CEO and Managing Director Thierry Delaporte said, “We have made significant investments in Wipro’s growth engine and are very pleased with the outcomes. Our order bookings grew 32% year over year in total contract value terms, powered by large transformational deals, and our pipeline today is at an all-time high.”
The company’s IT services segment rose 13.3% y-o-y to $2.74 million. Meanwhile, Wipro’s revenue in Americas 1 and Americas 2 grew by 5.8% and 4.1%, respectively.
“We continue to reinforce the investments that allow us to grow our business, remain agile in the market, and efficient as an organization while staying focused on serving our clients even better,” added Delaporte.
As for the future, Wipro expects its IT services revenue to grow further by three to five per cent in Q2.
