About 76% of Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region are optimistic that the global economy will improve this year following the two-year pandemic.<\/span><\/p>\n According to a survey by PwC, the latest figure is three per cent more than the 73% optimism level from last year.<\/span><\/p>\n PwC Philippines Chairman and Senior Partner Roderick M. Danao said that half (50%) of CEOs in the region are either \u201cvery confident\u201d or \u201cextremely confident\u201d in their revenue growth prospects in 2022.<\/span><\/p>\n He added that most respondents are interested in expanding into major economies \u2014 such as the United States, China, Australia, and the United Kingdom.<\/span><\/p>\n Meanwhile, the PwC survey showed that the top threats considered by APAC business leaders include health risks, cyber risks, and macroeconomic volatility. Most of them are concerned \u200b\u200bon the near-term effects for their revenues regardless of the threat.<\/span><\/p>\n Further, the report disclosed that 60% of APAC CEOs are progressing with their net-zero commitment, while 69% have either made or are heading towards a carbon neutrality commitment.<\/span><\/p>\n However, the survey noted that strategy is \u201cstill primarily driven by business metrics such as customer\/staff satisfaction and automation\/digitization goals.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The PwC survey, which was conducted in October and November last year, interviewed 1,618 CEOs in Asia-Pacific countries.<\/span><\/p>\n
