The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) will be streamlining its registration, accreditation, and monitoring processes for towers, satellites, and delivery companies to remove \u201cred tape\u201d in their operations.<\/span><\/p>\n DICT Secretary Emmanuel Caintic said that the changes were made through the DICT Department Circular (DC) No. 001 to abide by President Rodrigo Duterte\u2019s instructions in removing \u201cred tape and unnecessary steps, costs, and procedures in governmental dealings.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n He added that the adjustments will also conform to Republic Act No. 11032 or the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act.<\/span><\/p>\n With this development, Caintic announced that the Postal Regulation Division (PRD) is now restructured into the ICT Infrastructure and Services Enabling Division (IISED) and will be under the \u201cdirect control and supervision\u201d of the Office of the Undersecretary for Digital Philippines (OUDP).<\/span><\/p>\n The DICT official said that simplifying the entry process for companies in the\u00a0 private express and messenger delivery services (PEMDES) space could help open \u201cthousands of jobs\u201d to Filipinos, provide services to online sellers, and improve the sector.<\/span><\/p>\n According to DICT\u2019s estimates, the Philippine logistic market could reach more than P1 trillion (US$19.14 billion) by 2024.<\/span><\/p>\n
