Jobert Pe\u00f1aflorida and Eastern Visayas Tourism Association (EVTA) President Reynaldo Franco.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">During an online business forum headed by <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Manila Times<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Pe\u00f1aflorida said that the IT-BPO and tourism sectors will be among the major economic drivers in the region given the &#8220;revenge&#8221; arrival of foreign tourists and businesses.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To capitalize on this, Franca said that the Visayas needs &#8220;more stable&#8221; and &#8220;more accessible&#8221; airports for foreign visitors.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;An international airport would be a good investment\u2026We need to capitalize on the public-private partnership (PPP). The private sector should come in not only to domestic but also to foreign,&#8221; he added.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As for agriculture, Pe\u00f1aflorida emphasized the importance of prioritizing the region&#8217;s food security as it gives the region a \u201csense of stability\u201d amid the current global food challenges.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The PCCI Governor also described Iloilo as &#8220;the next big thing&#8221; in investments as it has a 90% rate in terms of ease of doing business between the local government and prospective investors.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The two officials also shared their optimism that President Ferdinand &#8220;Bongbong&#8221; Marcos, Jr. will push programs toward the rapid growth and development of the Visayas region.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.manilatimes.net\/2022\/06\/30\/news\/national\/more-investments-sought-for-visayas\/1849214\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow external\" data-wpel-link=\"external\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Read more here.<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Information Technology and Business Process Outsourcing (IT-BPO), agriculture, and tourism industries in the Visayas region still need additional local [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":7,"featured_media":51769,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[200],"tags":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v21.1 -
