{"id":55474,"date":"2023-01-17T15:33:38","date_gmt":"2023-01-17T07:33:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/news.outsourceaccelerator.com\/?p=55474"},"modified":"2023-01-17T15:33:38","modified_gmt":"2023-01-17T07:33:38","slug":"peza-pushes-wfh-for-it-bpos-in-ph","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.outsourceaccelerator.com\/peza-pushes-wfh-for-it-bpos-in-ph\/","title":{"rendered":"PEZA pushes WFH for IT-BPOs in PH"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">MANILA, PHILIPPINES \u2014 The Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) voiced its support for the institutionalization of the work-from-home (WFH) among information technology-business process outsourcing firms (IT-BPOs) in the country.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In a statement, PEZA OIC Deputy Director General Tereso Panga said they are praying for long-term WFH or hybrid workplaces in the Philippines as most of their IT locators prefer these arrangements.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Panga also stated that they are hoping for the amendment of Sec. 309 of CREATE Law so that PEZA-registered business enterprises (RBEs) will be on \u201cequal footing\u201d with those registered with the Board of Investments (BOI).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CREATE Law\u2019s Section 309 requires IT-BPOs to be \u201coperated within the geographical boundaries\u201d of an economic zone, disallowing them to allow 100% WFH implementation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Additionally, the firm expressed support for the extension of the application for transfers of IT-BPOs from PEZA to BOI.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Panga stated that this deadline extension would give way to the last-minute filing of applications for paper transfer by their RBEs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWhatever it takes to keep the competitiveness of our IT locators, we are all for it.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MANILA, PHILIPPINES \u2014 The Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) voiced its support for the institutionalization of the work-from-home (WFH) among [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":12,"featured_media":55457,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[200],"tags":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v21.1 -
