SAO PAULO, BRAZIL \u2014 Business process outsourcing (BPO) giant Accenture has announced its intention to acquire Green Domus Desenvolvimento Sustent\u00e1vel, a sustainability consultancy based in Brazil.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

With the acquisition, Accenture is aiming to expand its Sustainability Services portfolio. The financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.<\/span><\/p>\n

The move comes in response to a growing demand for advanced sustainability services, as only 7% of global companies are on track to achieve their net zero targets by 2050.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) recommends capping emissions by 2030 and reaching net zero by 2050 to limit temperature rise to 1.5\u00b0C below pre-industrial levels. <\/span>Net zero<\/span><\/a> is achieved when total emissions are less than or equal to the emissions removed from the environment.<\/span><\/p>\n

Established in 2005, Green Domus brings extensive industry experience and decarbonization strategy expertise across diverse sectors including natural resources, agriculture, consumer goods and retail.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
