Yamaha expands manufacturing plant, adds over 1K jobs
Japanese automobile juggernaut Yamaha recently expanded its motorcycle manufacturing operation in the country, adding P2.691 billion investments and hiring an additional 1,300 jobs for its newly-inaugurated Batangas plant.
The inauguration was attended by Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) Director General Charito Plaza, who said that the expansion will add 1,300 workers to its existing 1,500 workforce. Plaza added that this move is “also Yamaha’s testament to their commitment to further business operations in the Philippines.”
“Generating a huge number of products will result [in] creation of more jobs roughly about 1500 employees for [the] old factory and additional recruitment of 1300 workforce for this newly-built factory. This is in line with our corporate social responsibility in contributing to the enhancement of the Philippine economy,” said Yamaha Motor Philippines, Inc. President Hiroshi Koike.
