Zellis Group acquires Benify in benefits software merger

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM — Zellis Group, a provider of HR, payroll, and benefits administration software, announced the acquisition of Benify, a global benefits administration software provider.
This strategic merger will combine Benify with Zellis Group’s existing benefits administration and employee engagement software business, Benefex, creating a powerhouse in the HR technology sector.
Streamlined HR and payroll management solutions
The newly formed entity will serve approximately 3,000 companies across more than 100 countries, impacting the lives of over 5 million employees worldwide.
This extensive reach positions the combined companies as a major player in the fragmented benefits administration and employee engagement software segment.
Zellis Group, a portfolio company of Apax Partners LLP, is already a prominent figure in the United Kingdom and Ireland, offering payroll and HR software solutions to large enterprises. With this acquisition, the company significantly expands its global footprint and service offerings.
“This represents an exciting next chapter for the Zellis Group and is an early demonstration of the commitment of the Apax Funds to our continued growth,” said John Petter, CEO of Zellis Group.
Comprehensive employee benefits and payroll services
The merger will expand Zellis Group’s product portfolio, enhancing its ability to offer integrated services across HR and payroll systems.
Matt Macri-Waller, CEO of Benefex, highlighted the synergies of the merger: “Together we share a common goal of powering a truly global and exceptional employee experience for our customers and this acquisition develops the global capabilities of our products and services, whilst bringing together the depth of talent that sits across both organisations.”
Benefex, acquired by Zellis in 2018, already supports more than 1,000 global organizations, connecting employee experiences across rewards, benefits, and recognition.
Employee experience platforms
The enhanced offerings will allow multinational corporations to streamline their HR operations and create consistent employee experiences across different geographies.
“By combining our respective strengths, we will further expand our products, services and value to our customers and their employees,” Joakim Alm, CEO of Benify, commented.
“The transaction is a testament to Benify’s track record of achieving profitable growth through delivering world class solutions to our customers and the hard work and dedication of our entire team.”
Benify, founded in 2004, has grown into a global provider of total rewards solutions, offering a SaaS platform that connects HR systems, payroll, and benefit carriers. The company serves over 1,500 customers, including blue-chip clients, and manages benefits for over 3 million employees.
