Egyptian edtech Sprints secures $3Mn funding round

CAIRO, EGPYT — Education technology startup Sprints has raised $3 million in a funding round led by Disruptech Ventures, with participation from EdVentures, CFYE, and other investors.

Bridging the tech talent gap

Sprints intends to use the funding to power its expansion initiatives to 10 new markets. Co-founded in 2020 by Bazaraa and Bassam Sharkawy, Sprints bridges the tech talent gap in the Middle East and Africa region.

The platform offers an end-to-end solution spanning talent assessment, customized learning journeys, and a guaranteed hiring program

Sprints claims to have delivered more than 2.5 million learning hours and secured graduate employment through over 300 tech employers worldwide.

“This investment is a resounding validation of the team’s tireless efforts and unwavering dedication. Today, I stand proud of what we’ve collectively accomplished and am brimming with anticipation for the future we will pave together,” said Ayman Bazaraa, CEO of Sprints.

Yehia Abouelwafa, co-founder and chief investment officer at DisrupTech Ventures, stated: “We are proud of Sprints for decoding the growth dilemma with their all-in-one tech talent platform, which seamlessly integrates talent assessment, hiring, payroll, and upskilling to empower companies and governments alike to build world-class teams more efficiently than ever.”

Upskilling 200,000 tech learners

In connection with their goal to expand to 10 new markets, Sprints is also aiming to equip over 200,000 learners with the skills and knowledge required in the growing tech landscape.

Sprints, which boasts an average program rating of 4.8, has worked with the governments of Egpyt, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, the Netherlands, Germany, and the United States.

It has also started critical initiatives alongside United Nations organizations focusing on tech development and employment.
