2021 brought back IT-BPM’s glory – IBPAP

The year 2021 brought a resurgence to the Information Technology and Business Process Management (IT-BPM) industry, said IT and Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP) chair Benedict Hernandez.
During the “New Points of Contact: Advancing in a Boundaryless World” summit, Hernandez stated that the sector was able to preserve jobs, create new opportunities, spur development outside Metro Manila, and develop real estate demand this year.
The agency official added that the industry remains to be one of the “Philippines’ economic pillars” as it works in addressing the impacts of the pandemic in the country.
According to a report by the Everest Group, the Philippine IT-BPM sector is expected to increase between seven to eight per cent 7-8% in FTEs, and eight to 12% in terms of revenue by year-end.
A survey by IBPAP also showed that 56% of outsourcing providers are looking to report a double-digit growth this 2021, while 38% are predicting single-digit growth.
With the year ending, IBPAP CEO Jack Madrid said that they are already preparing for the development of the IT-BPM Roadmap 2028 and are aiming to complete it by mid-2022.
