49% of Singapore’s workforce are second-guessing their current jobs

Nearly half, or 49%, of Singapore’s labor force are unsure about staying in their current employment in the next six months, according to a survey from employment website Indeed.
About 24% of these respondents stated that they are planning to resign in the first half of 2022, while 25% are still not sure if they will remain in their organizations.
The survey found that the pandemic triggered the desire of 42% of Singapore’s professionals to quit their jobs.
Working remotely led workers to discern that they don’t like their jobs (49%), while others said that it caused increased stress (46%), workloads (44%), burnout (33%), and isolation (20%).
These high figures could cause a potential Great Resignation or a Great Reshuffle in the country over the next year.
However, the majority (56%) of polled workers said that a higher compensation could convince them to not quit, while others are asking for flexible working options (56%) and career progression (45%).
Indeed APAC Director for Corporate Communications Kate Furey said that the pandemic affected Singapore’s workforce “deeply” and influenced them to reflect on ”many aspects of their lives, work included.”
