56% of US workers support vaccine booster mandates

More than half, or 56%, of workers in the United States support their employer’s requirements to get booster shots of the COVID-19 vaccine, according to a report by management consultancy firm Eagle Hill Consulting.
In the survey conducted from January 5 to 7 with 1,001 employees, 78% of respondents said that their employers should encourage or require vaccination to return to on-site work.
Eagle Hill Consulting President and CEO Melissa Jezior said that the presence of the Omicron variant has “rattled employees while upending return to workplace plans.”
She added that for those who are hoping for a return to normalcy this year, “this setback is discouraging.”
To address those who are not willing to get jabbed, Eagle Hill’s survey also found that 47% of workers support the idea that unvaccinated workers should pay higher insurance rates.
Further, the research recorded that employees are being more careful and are practicing continued health and safety protocols such as social distancing (84%) and mask-wearing (82%) in their workplaces.
