57% of UK workers are planning to work flexibly overseas
More than half, or 57%, of workers in the United Kingdom (UK) are looking to extend their holidays and work abroad for the rest of the year.
According to a study by flexible workspace operator IWG, 88% of workers say they plan to work from anywhere this year as hybrid working opens new employment opportunities.
Meanwhile, 67% of workers agree that they can perform their job effectively abroad, and 71% say they would only consider a new job that gave them the flexibility to work from anywhere, at least some of the time.
Improved work-life balance (76%) was the most common benefit of working from anywhere. This was followed by being able to spend more time with friends and family abroad (52%), saving money by traveling off-peak (47%), and being able to enjoy longer holidays (30%).
IWG Founder and CEO Mark Dixon said that the trend of flexible and hybrid working would “accelerate further” as companies try to increase their attractiveness as an employer.
