Korea-Uzbekistan tie signals a new digital corridor

TASHKENT, UZBEKISTAN — South Korean technology companies have deepened their delivery footprint inside IT Park Uzbekistan, with 48 Korean-affiliated firms now operating in the zone and a bilateral recruitment agreement covering up to 500 specialists for Korean and Japanese employers framing Uzbekistan as the emerging hub for a Eurasian outsourcing corridor.
Combined Korean-affiliated operations generated approximately $1.3 million in export revenues and employed 410 specialists in the first half of 2026, while the IT Park Seoul office and the Uzbek-Korean IT Business Alliance provide the coordination infrastructure for bilateral technology transfer and talent deployment.
Korean-affiliated firms expand delivery footprint inside IT Park Uzbekistan
According to an article in Korea Times authored by Azamat Karamatov, Chief Executive Officer of IT Park Uzbekistan, the zone hosted 23 Korean-capital companies generating $590,900 in exports and employing 125 specialists as of June 2026, alongside 25 Korean export-services firms with $716,000 in revenues and 285 employees.
The Uzbek-Korean IT Business Alliance, launched in 2024 through a partnership with the Korea International Innovation Integration Center, provides the coordination framework for technology transfer, joint project development, and bilateral talent placement between the two countries’ digital industries.
KS JOB INC., a Korean-affiliated firm operating inside the zone, signed a memorandum of understanding covering Korean-language training and the recruitment of up to 500 specialists for Korean and Japanese employer clients.
IT Park Uzbekistan said the framework positions the zone as a cost-competitive delivery option for Korean technology companies seeking Eurasian reach, drawing on a pool of more than 3,800 resident companies that includes more than 1,000 foreign enterprises.
MetaM BPO transfer plans signal deeper delivery integration
MetaM, a Korean company operating inside the zone, is exploring the transfer of business process outsourcing (BPO) functions and the establishment of a quality assurance office, a model that would formalize Uzbekistan as an active node in its multinational delivery structure.
The IT Park Seoul office, opened in 2024, provides a direct liaison channel between Korean companies and the zone’s offshore outsourcing administration and its growing roster of resident technology firms.
The “Regional Digital Global Bridge: Connecting Uzbekistan and Korea” memorandum of understanding, signed in July 2025, established the formal framework for technology exports, talent development programs, and digital infrastructure coordination across the corridor.
IT Park Uzbekistan said Korea’s interest complements the zone’s existing partnerships with technology firms from the United States, Russia, India, Germany, the United Kingdom, Egypt, and Pakistan, adding a Northeast Asian employer demand channel to Uzbekistan’s multinational delivery mix.
For BPO providers and buyers tracking emerging delivery markets in Eurasia, the Korea-Uzbekistan corridor offers a government-backed channel that pairs Central Asian talent supply with structured demand from Korean and Japanese technology employers.
As Korean technology companies broaden offshore delivery beyond Southeast Asia, Uzbekistan’s IT Park model provides a corridor-based outsourcing template with zone incentives, bilateral recruitment agreements, and a growing Korean-language training pipeline.
