ANTANANARIVO, MADAGASCAR — Armatis has opened a new operations center of nearly 4,000 square meters in Antananarivo, Madagascar, with plans to bring together 700 employees there by the end of 2027. The site is sized to take on new activities for French and pan-European clients in stages.
The opening follows moves to strengthen the group’s sites in Portugal, Tunisia and Morocco earlier this year. Armatis wants the center to become a strategic hub combining artificial intelligence and human skills.
Higher-value digital work
Armatis is bringing higher value-added digital services to the site through its specialist subsidiaries Init and Armatis Technology, Relation Client Magazine reported on Oct. 23. The offer includes software development, data qualification and refinement, B2C surveys, and services that combine artificial intelligence with human intervention.
The aim is to develop the site into a hub that brings together production, digital expertise and highly technical functions.
“Armatis was conceived from the outset to support the next stages of the group’s development. We wanted to create a site able to produce quickly, in good conditions, while preparing the skills we will need tomorrow,” said Fateh Rouabah, director of Armatis in Madagascar.
“The first activities under way, the quality of the teams and the projects in progress show that this ambition is already taking shape,” he said.
Training and internal promotion
To reach 700 employees by the end of 2027, management has set up structured support for its teams. Onboarding includes dedicated “Welcome Days” sessions and training focused on the group’s trades and tools.
A local management track has also been created to encourage internal promotion. The site provides group health coverage, a transport service available day and night, a dining area and a space for employee activities.
A youth employment partnership
Armatis is preparing to sign an agreement with a local association that specializes in training young people and helping them into work. The partnership aims to steer some of the high school graduates the association trains each year, who number more than 100, toward customer advisor, administrative, support and digital roles.
The initiative follows other inclusion programs the group runs in its locations. Those include the processing center it opened in June inside the Saran-Orléans prison in France.
What it means for buyers
Madagascar follows Portugal, Tunisia and Morocco in this year’s build-out, and the new site pairs customer advisor roles with software, data and AI-assisted work.
European buyers weighing offshore outsourcing of customer service and data work can compare providers on the top BPO companies worldwide list.
