Lapu-Lapu City aiming to attract KPO players
Lapu-Lapu City, situated on the island of Mactan in Cebu, is looking to attract operators in the knowledge process outsourcing (KPO) industry. The city is already a hub for leisure and manufacturing, but the local government said it wants to anchor its future in KPO.
Lapu-Lapu City tourism officer Edward Mendez said during a meeting with members of the European Chamber of Commerce in the Philippines that locals are known to be creative people, and that the city wants to attract high-value services.
Currently, however, Mendez said the city is getting a lot of inquiries from Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs) that want to operate on the island.
