Infosys eyes billion-dollar cloud business
IT and outsourcing giant Infosys is acquiring businesses in the areas of cloud and data to achieve its goal of making these areas a billion-dollar unit of the company. The focus on these aspects of digital will continue and the acquisitions will be around these areas, an Infosys executive was quoted as saying.
For the third quarter, digital contributed over 40% to Infosys’ revenue and is growing at a time when its legacy business is contracting. In February, Infosys announced that it was acquiring a Salesforce platinum partner in the US for about US$250m.
Meanwhile, Infosys said it will continue to make it easier for employees to make decisions on large deals without needing to seek permission from senior management at every level.
