POGO revenue forecast set at P20B; actual 2019 collection only P6B

Government revenues from Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs) should reach as much as P20 billion per year, but collections only reached P6 billion in 2019, as reported by the Department of Finance (DOF).
According to DOF secretary Carlos Dominguez III, they are aware of the “leakages in the POGOs,” and the agency has been trumping down those leakages.
The POGO industry, which was represented by the Accredited Service Providers Association of PAGCOR (ASPAP), said its members paid the required regulatory fees and the corporate and withholding taxes of their workers. PAGCOR has previously classified POGOs under the BPO umbrella, which was immediately rejected by the IT and Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP).
