22% of US workforce to WFH by 2025 – report

The “Future Workforce Pulse Report” released by online staffing platform Upwork Inc. revealed that 22% of Americans, or 36.2 million workers, will work remotely by 2025.
The report, which surveyed 1,000 hiring managers, also disclosed that managers believe that 26.7% of the workforce will be fully remote in one year. It is noted that nine months into the pandemic, 41.8% of the American workforce is fully remote.
“Our research shows the long-lasting impact that remote work and Covid-19 are likely to have on how hiring managers think about their organizations… As businesses adapt and learn from this remote work experiment, many are altering their long-term plans to accommodate this way of working,” Upwork Chief Economist Adam Ozimek said.
