DOH to partner with BPOs to improve COVID-19 referral hotline

Senator Risa Hontiveros urges the Department of Health (DOH) to seek the help of the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) firms to boost the government’s COVID-19 hospital referral hotline.
In a statement, Hontiveros said that the One Hospital Command Center (OHCC) are hard to reach due to the overwhelming number of calls due to rising COVID-19 cases, The senator added that the Philippines is “home to world-renowned BPO industries,” and “utilizing their capabilities will pave the way for more calls getting answered, more patients being promptly referred to hospitals, more lives being saved.”
DOH’s data revealed that the OHCC has been receiving up to 300 calls per day – five times the usual number of calls it received last year.
