NCR to shift to GCQ ‘with heightened restrictions’ until May 31

Metro Manila, as well as the provinces of Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, and Rizal, will shift to General Community Quarantine (GCQ) ‘with heightened restrictions’ from May 15 until the end of the month – unless extended.
Some areas in Cordillera Administrative Region, Region 2, Region 4-A, Region 4-B, Region 10, Region 11, and Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao will also be under GCQ.
Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said that “some curbs will remain,” noting the limitations in transportation, gatherings, dine-in services, and more.
The decision comes amid the country still reporting over 5,000 COVID-19 cases daily.
