PEZA proposes ecozone developments

The Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) identified 21 potential economic zones in the provinces to establish more pharmaceutical parks to manufacture vaccines and medicine – a move that supports Administrative Order 18.
PEZA noted that it collaborated with various agencies like the Mindanao Development Authority, the Southern Philippine Development Authority, the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos, other Cabinet members and executives from Mindanao to come up with the proposed ecozones.
In a statement, PEZA Director General Charito Plaza said they hope to establish more pharma ecozones and Knowledge, Innovation, Science and Technology (KIST) parks; aqua-marine and renewable-energy parks; mineral processing ecozones; halal hubs and production; and defense industrial complexes.
