BPO firms expect to achieve 5-15% growth this year

The Philippines business process outsourcing (BPO) industry is expected to continue to grow and attract new and expansion investments from foreign clients this year despite the global recession caused by the pandemic.
Information Technology Business Processing Association of the Philippines (IBPAP) president Rey Untal said 87% of its member BPO companies are expecting to grow at 5 to 15 percent this year.
During the Laging Handa public briefing, Untal noted that country heads of IBPAP members remain positive as they continue to receive orders during the current and past quarters.
During the height of the pandemic, the BPO sector was one of the few industries that managed to achieve growth. It had a 1.8% increase in headcount and 1.4% revenue growth in 2020.
