Fiji BPOs eye 100% vaccinated workforce

In a move aimed to support efficient BPO operations, the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) Council in Fiji is targeting a 100 percent vaccinated workforce for its members.
BPO Council executive director Sagufta Janif said that once employees start going back to work to access the extensive BPO support facilities and infrastructure, the industry would solve the challenges they face with the remote work setup.
“Council members employ approximately 5,000 people and the good news is that almost 60 percent of the industry’s workforce have already received their first vaccination, and some of our BPO companies are even going to the extent of providing transportation to vaccination sites for their staff and their families,” said Janif.
Since India and the Philippines, Fiji’s major competitors in the BPO industry, are severely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, Fiji has an opportunity to capture clients who are now looking at other destinations to minimize the risks involved in investing in one destination.
