SEA workforce prefer remote work post-COVID

More than 80% of employees in Southeast Asia would like to continue working remotely even after pandemic restrictions are lifted, according to the 2021 EY Work Reimagined Employee Survey.
The EY survey interviewed 16,264 individuals, including 1,037 across SEA countries Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia in March.
The results showed only 15% of respondents from SEA want full-time office work after the pandemic. While 32% would prefer to work anywhere, 29% want full-time remote work and 23% prefer a hybrid work arrangement that combines on-site and remote work.
Additionally, nine in 10 Southeast Asian respondents want flexible work arrangements. Without this, 60% are considering leaving their job after the pandemic.
