Jamaican BPO sector to see growth this 2021

The Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) industry in Jamaica is expected to see increased growth over the course of this year, according to the President of the Business Process Industry Association of Jamaica (BIAJ) Gloria Henry.
During an interview with Jamaica Observer, Henry stated that there is a healthy interest in the BPO sector since 2021 started with about three new firms launching their operations in the country.
Henry expressed her excitement on the latest development. She said she is “very optimistic based on what I’m seeing from the growth of existing players who obviously are getting new business.”
Jamaica currently has under 44,000 BPO employees across 95 domestic and international companies. The BIAJ president noted that they are now working towards their goal of acquiring 50,000 employees by “adding more jobs in higher value-added outsourcing services.”
