BPOs to hire displaced tourism workers

The Department of Tourism (DOT) will be holding a series of virtual job fairs in the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) industry through August and September to help their displaced tourism workers find new employment.
This job fair will be held in partnership with the Information Technology and Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP).
Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo Puyat acknowledged the participation of IBPAP and outsourcing firms iQor, Alorica, Tahche, and Manulife “for providing opportunities for displaced workers in the tourism sector.”
The DOT chief said that this event will help their displaced employees regain their livelihood and resume their career growth.
Romulo added that she is “confident that the caliber and values of our tourism workers shall be a great asset” to various BPO companies.
The schedule of the job fairs is published on the DOT’s Facebook page.
